Welcome to the WVT Communications Peregrine Falcon Cam!

Here you will find the home of a male and female peregrine falcon, located in the heart of downtown Syracuse, NY, on the 20th floor of the State Tower Building. These peregrine falcons have been nesting here at the State Tower building for 6 years.

In the 1970's the peregrine falcon was declared an endangered species; however, in 1999 they were delisted nationwide due to the efforts of many organizations trying to conserve them. Although there have been many efforts nationwide, they are still considered endangered in some areas including here in New York State.

The peregrine falcon is an incredibly smart creature, and they are known for their high speed flying and hunting skills. They can fly up to speeds of 40 - 50 miles per hour, and when they are hunting these falcons can even fly up to 200 miles per hour when they dive for their prey!
